ABOUT VISITING SCHOLARS The Tourism Studies Working Group welcomes the participation of scholars from outside the San Francisco Bay Area whose work touches on any aspect of tourism or travel, past or present. However, we are administratively unable to serve as the primary institutional host for visiting scholars and post-doctoral researchers. If you would like to spend a period of weeks, months, or semesters in residence with the TSWG, you must first direct your inquiry to the most appropriate academic unit on the UC Berkeley campus (for example, Anthropology, Geography, Economics, Ethnic Studies, History, etc.). Each department has its own requirements and procedures for visiting scholar applications. If there is a particular member of the TSWG with whom you are interested in working, please write to that person directly, as she or he may be able to help you secure affiliation with the appropriate academic unit. Once you have begun the application process, we welcome your inquiry regarding affiliation with the TSWG. A NOTE REGARDING FUNDING The Tourism Studies Working Group does not have funds available to support post-doctoral researchers or visiting scholars. In the past, visiting scholars have secured funding from academic, governmental, and private foundations.
